I’m so happy you’re here!

 

Discovering a passion for painting at 48 has been a completely unexpected and joyful surprise, and I’m excited to share the results with you. After not picking up a brush since school—aside from a few blobs of paint with my son and some occasional, uncertain but fun splodges encouraged by a creative friend—I found myself drawn back to it in late summer 2024. Suddenly, I’m painting at least one piece a day, and I’m loving the process of expressing myself in this way!

Of course, there’s been plenty of self-doubt along the way, but I’m choosing to celebrate each piece as it is. For me, creativity is about living authentically: showing up, doing the best I can, and letting go of the need for perfection. I hope that even if my art doesn’t resonate with you, this message does—that if you feel the call, it’s always the right time to follow your passions, embrace creativity, and share what lights you up.

 

​​Alongside my art, I’ve also been working on a very special project: a collaboration with the incredible digital artist Chris Bridgeman. Together, we’ve created Spinning with Tides, a 124-page hardback book filled with my poetry and Chris’s vibrant, full-colour digital illustrations. This book has been a true labour of love and reflects the same ethos that drives my painting—a desire to connect, inspire, and celebrate creativity.
